A Prayer for the World

On this World Day of Prayer, as I reflect on the state of our country and the world, I center myself in the presence of Divine Spirt and affirm:

Calm during this time of great turmoil and civil unrest.

Peace to all embroiled in conflict and discord.

Comfort to all who have suffered a loss.

Healing for our wounded planet and for all of humanity.

I hold that:

Love triumphs over hate.

Faith triumphs over fear. Wisdom triumphs over ignorance. Joy triumphs over sorrow.

And so, it is. Amen.
